    Y1 Mountfitchet Castle Visit (9:00 AM)

    On Wednesday 13th March we have arranged to take Y1 on a trip to Mountfitchet Castle in Stansted, as part of our History topic on Castles.

    We will be leaving school at 9:15am and returning by 3.15pm.  Children can wear suitable, comfy clothes e.g. tracksuit bottoms, leggings etc but must wear yellow sweatshirts. Much of the trip will be outside so they will need sensible footwear and waterproofs. Children who normally have a packed lunch from home on Wednesdays should continue to bring one in. Those children who have a lunch provided by the school will be given one to take on the day.

    Please can your child also bring a backpack to hold their packed lunch, water bottle and snack.

    The cost of the trip is £22.00 per child. Although no child will be prevented from participating through non-payment, if the full cost of the trip is not received, we may not be able to go ahead with the visit.  Please log on to School Gateway, make your contribution and give consent by Friday 8th March.

    Y2 St Pauls Cathedral (9:00 AM)

    On Wednesday 13th March 2019, Year 2 will be visiting St Paul’s Cathedral.

     

    Before Christmas a Y2 pupil entered a competition to win a class trip to St Paul’s Cathedral and won! This trip is particularly relevant for Y2 since it will now replace our local trip to St Peter’s Church as well as support the work we have been doing on the Great Fire of London.

     

    The coach will be leaving school promptly at 8.50am so we ask that children arrive on time so that we can complete the register quickly and leave on time. We will be returning to school in the afternoon, before the end of the school day. Children will require a packed lunch.  If your child normally has school dinners, a packed lunch will be provided by the kitchen staff. All children need to bring a water bottle.

     

    All children should wear school uniform, including the yellow Aboyne Lodge sweatshirt if possible. Please can all children bring a backpack; they will need this to carry their lunch, snack and water bottle around all day themselves.

     

    Although entry to the cathedral and trip up the dome is free of charge a voluntary contribution of £15 is requested to cover the cost of the coach. Although no child will be prevented from participating through non payment, if the full cost of the trip is not received we may not be able to go ahead with the visit. Payment and consent should be made via the school Gateway by Friday 8th March 2019.
