Aboyne Lodge have a School Council made up of one girl and one boy from each Key Stage 1 class and each Key Stage 2 class. They are voted for by their classmates and meet most Mondays to discuss various initiatives and to make important whole school decisions. Below is a list of the activities of the school council last academic year:

  • Made posters to advertise Christmas Jumper day (raised over £300)
  • Judged design a Christmas jumper competition
  • Helped with Christmas Fair
  • Assembly sharing new playground equipment bought with last year’s Sainsbury’s vouchers, including a demonstration
  • Tidied playground shed for new equipment
  • Asked classes on any issues, many came up with lack of wet play equipment so we decided to have a pyjama day.
  • Devised a letter to parents about pyjama day
  • Pyjama day raise £50 per class to spend on wet play equipment
  • Spent the wet play money using the Argos catalogue
  • Made up and asked the St Albans Mayor questions in assembly
  • Counted Sainsbury’s vouchers (6000, counted in one week!)
  • Decided what to spend the vouchers on (2 goal posts and some marker spots for PE lessons)
  • Helped with the summer fair
