Music and singing are part of the fabric of our school. Children listen to, and appreciate, a wide variety of music. They enjoy singing, playing musical instruments and composing their own pieces allowing them to express their creativity. We use ‘Musical Express’ as a scheme of work to support this.

Children have a wide range of opportunities to perform, including every child participating in a Christmas Nativity production in EYFS and KS1, performance assemblies, an Easter show by Year 3 & 4 and the summer performance for Year 5 & 6.  We offer the opportunity for children to learn to play the piano, guitar, a brass instrument as well as the violin and the recorder. We also have a singing group who take part in a variety of events, and celebrate music throughout the year with lots of musical performances.
