Nov12Y5/Y6 Wyllyotts Theatre trip
As you know, the Y5 &Y6 children have the opportunity to take part in a drama project produced by The Young Shakespeare Company, based on Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ play. This comprised of the in-school drama workshops for each class in October, and now a theatre trip to Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar, to watch a performance of the play by The Company, with audience participation.
For the theatre visit, we will be travelling by coach, for the performance which is from 11am to 12.30pm returning to school before the end of the school day. All children will have a packed lunch that day. If your child normally has a school dinner they will be provided with a packed lunch prepared by the kitchen staff. Please could all children wear their yellow sweatshirts on this day and make sure they are provided with a waterproof coat if it is raining.
Nov12'Power of One' Performance (1:15 PM)
As it is National Anti-Bullying week, the children will be working in class on a series of lessons with Anti-Bullying as the focus. To help reinforce this work, we have been lucky enough to secure the very sought after and popular, Soren Bennick Productions ‘Power of One’ performance. This will be split into 2 age appropriate performances, YR-Y3 first and Y4-Y6 second, timings have been worked so that the Y5/Y6 children are back from their Wyllyotts Theatre trip.
After the performances the actors will leave us 2x Power of One Pledge Poster Boards, one for KS1 and KS2. During that week the boards will go from class to class so each child can sign the pledge board. These will then be displayed in our reception area as a permanent reminder to the children.
A voluntary contribution of £3.00 per child is requested to cover the cost. Although no child will be prevented from participating through non-payment, if the full cost of the performances is not received, we may not be able to go ahead. Payment and consent should be made via Gateway by Friday 9th November.
