SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our school council’s role is to act as representatives for their classes during discussions with the Headteacher and other staff. They help give our pupils a strong voice and have a key role in how things are done at Aboyne Lodge.

The school council help to make decisions about how the school functions. They support the Headteacher when making teaching appointments, as well as run and take on a number of projects and organise charity events. For example, in recent times they have raised money for homelessness, planted hundreds of bulbs around school that pop up in the Spring, making the school look beautiful, and have provided ideas for the development of the playground.

Elections take place at the start of each year, where children speak passionately about what they would like to do to help improve the school.  All of the school councillors are voted in by their peers.
